Heather Ale Create Bespoke New Ale for Knockengorroch Music Festival!
Knockengorroch World Ceilidh Festival presents Scottish and World music in a beautiful mountain valley in the Galloway Hills. William Bros Brewery, who brew the celebrated Heather Ales have been supporters of the festival since it began in 1998 and now sponsor the Fraoch Cabaret Stage. Director Bruce Williams has been working with festival organizers to create a very special brand new ‘Knock Ale’ dedicated to the festivals and the place.
Bruce Williams said:
'William Bros Ales gather the natural wild plants of Scotland to create real Ales with a unique and quintessentially Scottish flavour. This year we're proud to announce the first of its kind - a 'Knock Ale' created especially for the Knockengorroch World Ceilidh Festival! The Ale is based around the dandelion flower, which I noticed grows in profusion at Knockengorroch, and will be sold exclusively at Knockengorroch this year'
Festival Director and Knockengorroch resident Simon Holmes added:
‘Heather Ale and Knockengorroch Festivals have much in common. Both are all about celebrating the richness of Scottish culture and landscape and bringing the people to the land. Though one is through drink and the other through music and dance, both work with the Scottish land to produce products of taste and fun!’
The family friendly festival will take place from 27-30 May at Knockengorroch farm. The eclectic line-up features The Beat, Lunasa, Eat Static, King Creosote, Ska Cubano, Besh o’Drom, DJ Pathaan, Mungo’s Hi Fi Sound System, Kissmet and many more live acts and DJs as well as a children’s area, hot tub, cinema, cabaret, workshops, camping and a healing area.
