The inspiration for the fancy dress theme this year is ‘Birds and Stars’. On Friday night dress to impress, light up the night, shake your tail feather on the dancefloor, sparkle and shine with your flight of fancy.
The theme reflects our partnerships with the RSPB and the Dark-sky Planetarium as the eyes of the world turn to Galloway to look up upon the brightest stars in the UK.
The area has been designated one of only five international Dark-sky Parks in the world as well as a UNESCO biosphere, a world-class environment hosting a rich combination of landscape, wildlife and culture with communities that care about and for their environment. The festival is also hosting the RSPB to create activities raising awareness of the abundance of different types of birds which reside in the area.
