Take the Knock Bus

To/From the World Ceilidh

The road to KnockengorrochFor those who do not (want to) drive – get to the festival in an eco-friendly way, and enjoy the scenery en route! For WORLD CEILIDH 2016 we will again be running a return bus service from Edinburgh & Glasgow to Knockengorroch and for 2016 a return bus service from Carlisle and Dumfries. You cannot book a one-way ticket, sorry, but there will certainly be some empty seats for the return journey – see below.

Please note – Knockbus E-tickets will be emailed to you. Your name will also be on the passenger list with the number of seats you’ve booked when you board.

Please also note that if you are wanting to bring a child on the Knockbus, only children under 2 years are free and they would have to sit on the adult’s lap. Legal requirements state that children over 2 years old must have a seat purchased for them.

Returning

For the return journey, please congregate in front of festival office on Monday 30th May by 10.00am for Thursday bus passengers and noon for Friday bus passengers. You will be transported to where you were dropped off at the road end from where the bus will leave at noon for the return journey for Thursday passengers, and 2.30pm.for those who travelled to the festival on the Friday Knockbus.

As there are always some empty seats for the return journey, please ask at office on Monday morning 30th May around 10.30am if you would like to buy a one-way seat to return to Glasgow or Edinburgh. You will need to wait until all pre-booked passengers are checked off before you are likely to be allocated a seat. One way to Glasgow £15, one way to Edinburgh £18.

Please note we are currently investigating a larger coach to transport all passengers returning to the central belt at the same time, irrespective of whether you travelled down on the Thursday or Friday – to avoid having two coaches returning. We will update this page as soon as we have news.
