Con’tylia
A big Knockengorroch welcome to Con’tylia!
Con’tylia explore the world of Eastern European and Middle Eastern folk music. Greece being their birthplace, the songs are mainly influenced by Northern Greek, Balkan, Rebetiko and Maqam cultures with tasty jazz polyphonic harmonies, soulful string arrangements and a toe tapping percussion section.
The four members of Con’tylia have the Cretan lute, Turkish oud, bendir, guitar, djembe and castanets as their main weapons of choice, with the occasional addition of the bouzouki and the low whistle.
We are thrilled to have their sound echoing through the Knockengorroch hills!
