We can’t wait to welcome dub legends High Tone to Knockengorroch this year!
Formed in 1997 in Lyon, France, the group have been delighting audiences with their boundary-breaking sound ever since.
The instrumental dub group incorporates guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and turntables to transport audiences. Through jungle intros, diverse samples and discrete scratches you’ll find yourself pulled into a warm, deeply organic sound that vibrates at your core and infuses you with energy.
Known for their wide-ranging influences, High Tone’s music incorporates many worlds. In one track you might travel from 1970’s Jamaica to a dingy electronic basement club, and still be left with notes of a shamisen performance. While all along the way paying homage to Drum’n’bass, Ambient, Trance, Vintage Dub and artists like King Tubby and Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry.
It’s been five years since their last album release, and the band have just dropped ‘Time Has Come.’ Never a group to shy away from an experimental sound, this new album represents their return to skank while blending new inspiration from their recent time spent in China.
Make your way to the front of the Bo Airigh Stage and get ready to be transported!
