Jemima Thewes & LANES take you on a wild and hearty ride of cloud-hopping tales, deep resonance and intricate rhythms. Vocals layered with grit and tenderness are carried on a bed of strings and playful percussion. Tim Lane plays a complex range of crafted samples, tongue drum and kit, with Suz Appelbe on cello and Jem Le Lievre on bass gliding into undertones of a rich sonorous backdrop to Jemima’s powerful yet delicate voice.

This music is bold and experimental, recognising the folk tradition, yet taking it to a distinctive edge, the effect of which is heart-opening, and stays with you long after you have heard it.
