Shaun Galbraith runs Vocal or Version, Glasgow’s only revival reggae night, hosted at The Rum Shack every couple of months. Dedicated to vintage Jamaican music played exclusively on original press vinyl, the night spans ska, rocksteady, early reggae, roots, lovers rock, and Jamaican soul.

Vocal or Version not only brings in guests from the revival scene across England and beyond but also consistently showcases Scottish-based talent and collectors.

Previous guests have included Asher G ‘The Rocksteady Daddy,’ Tiny T (Mighty Cloudburst), Doc Murdoc, Gabby Ochoa, Oxman, Ram Jam, Gladdy Wax, Dubplate Pearl, Mister Swing Easy, Phill Jupitus, Guto Pryce (Super Furry Animals), Chris Geddes (Belle & Sebastian), Sound Sistrenz, Nightwave, and many more.
