Each year we feature a different talented visual artist on our festival artwork.
This year it is Edinburgh based Nem Sarton (Nematode).
Nem processes and explores her thoughts and emotional world through her work in ink, pen, emulsion and watercolour on canvas and card.
With a background in fine art, performance, sculptural installation and art therapy she approaches universal themes, capturing familiar personal thought in moments of intimate, sensitive and, at times, humorous honesty. Nem creates purposeful pieces that confront her audience’s own political persuasions, emotional identities and cheeky indulgences.
Nem has had several exhibitions across Edinburgh and has been involved in site décor at several festivals across Scotland.
Nem also DJs! Her passion is reggae and roots, but she also explores hip hop, funk, soul, afrobeat, world music vibes and disco in her sets. Catch the woman herself at World Ceilidh 2017.
