2017 is Knockengorroch’s 20th year and we’re going to make history… Folks we’re going to break a world record!
Our theme for Knockengorroch World Ceilidh 2017 is unicorns! Unchained. An amazing mythical creature, which has existed throughout time and across cultures, it only just happens to be Scotland’s National Animal!
This one is to beat the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing unicorn horns.
We’ve registered with Guinness Book of Records and we’re official. All we need is uni-horned festy-goers! To be counted people need one horn on the centre of the head or forehead. It can be homemade, bought, attached to a headband or a hat. It just needs to look like a horn.
Everyone is invited to bring their horns on Saturday 27th May to the Bo Airigh stage and we’ll do the rest.
We will feature unicorns throughout the festival. There will be unicorn horn making workshops, visuals and activities on site.
The unicorn is depicted as chained on the Royal Coat of Arms… Rumour has it that is because a free unicorn is a dangerous beast… But we heard it governs through harmony and peace! Lets free the unicorn at Knockengorroch World Ceilidh 2017!
