Festival Site Description
Knockengorroch Festival is held at Knockengorroch farm – 4 miles off the A713. The site itself is mostly flat grassy fields. On the festival fields there is an outdoor music stage, a bar tent and 3 large marquees which are used for bands, DJs and workshops. The three fields are long and a river runs along the site. A compacted dirt path and temporary tracking runs over grassy areas. There is one inside venue with a grass floor and step free access.
We do not have viewing platforms, but as we are a small, relaxed festival we are confident you will be able to find a spot which is just right for you to enjoy the music. We are happy to assist you with this.
Parking
Please let us know if you have access needs related to parking. Day parking and taxi drop-off point for festival guests with specific access requirements is possible, please contact us in advance or speak to the traffic stewards on arrival. The festival box office is on the road in 1.25 miles from the site itself. The festival office on site is also able to help with all access queries.
Camping
The distance between the camping and the main outdoor stage on the field varies between 45 metres (mainly disabled and family camping) and approximately 800 metres (this includes live-ins and caravans). The greatest distance between car parking areas and camping is 60 metres and the average distance to walk between car parking and camping is 30 metres. Please get in touch if this would be a problem or you need to be in accessible camping.
The field is flat and there is ample space for tents, vehicles and live in vehicles. There is an accessible modular toilet in the accessible camping site. We are also happy to discuss camping on the festival field in certain situations.
Knockengorroch Festival is just a 20-minute drive from Carsphairn village and Dalmellington where there are accommodation options.
Toilets and Hot Showers
There are accessible modular toilets in all the fields and the accessible campsite.
There are free showers on site which are cleaned regularly throughout the day.
First Aid and Welfare
Fully qualified First Aid provision in a dedicated indoor first aid space, an adjacent welfare tent and a fully equipped ambulance are in a central site at the event. First aid and welfare are open throughout the festival 24 hours. Fridge space can be made available for medication requiring refrigeration.
Access to Performance
At present we do not have BSL interpretation, captioning or audio description – however, we’re working on it – watch this space!
Assistance Dogs
We welcome registered assistance dogs onsite.
Strobe Lighting
There may be strobe lighting at the Sheiling Tent and/ or Bo Airigh stage in the evening. Please ask at the festival office if you require advance warning of this.
