Knockengorroch Podcast

In 2020 and 2021 Knockengorroch was a quieter place than usual, with our May festivals being cancelled due to the pandemic. It gave us a chance to reflect and plan as well as rest the land. Instead of a festival we released a double compilation album Sounds Like Knockengorroch and Katch Holmes brought a selection of interviews, music and chat with artists and regular characters about the festival, remembering the good times and looking forward to more to come in this exclusive podcast!

Beginnings

In this episode Katch talks to festival founders and Knockengorroch residents Liz and Simon Holmes about why they started Knockengorroch Festival – a tale of social idealism, musical discovery and connection to land and heritage. She also chats to Jonny Hardie of Old Blind Dogs and Nick Jenkins of Outland Trio who share their memories of the very first festival in 1998.
