Josie Duncan and Pablo Lafuente

2017 BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award Winners, Duncan and Lafuente are one of the most dextrous and delicate folk acts on the scene today. They will perform the music from their debut album with special guests Signy Jacobsdottir (percussion) and Innes White (guitar). The album is a mix of original and traditional songs from all corners of Scotland and the world over. Josie’s crystal clear voice is equally at home in Gaelic, Scots or English.

This will be a sneak preview of Josie’s singing. – she is also the singer with INYAL, who will perform at the World Ceilidh festival this May.

Morag Brown and Lewis Powell-Reid

Morag and Lewis play a rich repertoire of music from a wide variety of traditions. On fiddle and cittern or accordion, they are at home performing traditional Scottish, English and Irish music, as well as music from across Europe, the Balkans and Greece. They take inspiration from traditional archive sources, from the musicians they meet and the places they travel to. When playing together, their shared intuition and love of spontaneity allows them to freely move between melody, harmony and improvisation.
Morag is a member of Awry who play annually at the World Ceilidh festival for the famous Knockengorroch ceilidh on Sunday afternoon.

Tickets are £10. All ticket buyers will receive 10% off their World Ceilidh ticket. (Existing festival ticket holders gain event admission for £5)

Supported by the Catstrand and Dumfries and Galloway Regional Arts Fund
