We are very sad to have to inform you that once again we are going to have to postpone the September festival.
We desperately wanted to have a festival in the field again and were doing all we could to make it happen. However the obstacles are simply too great for us to be sure that we can hold a safe and relaxed event for everyone – our festival-goers, staff, crew, traders, performers and everyone else who makes Knockengorroch.
Our licence application was due in mid July and it has proved impossible to submit our event safety management plans to the council to obtain this licence when no guidelines have been provided as to the restrictions, concerns or ‘guidance’ post 9 August.
We made a firm decision a while ago that Knockengorroch would only be Knockengorroch if we could run it without social distancing or mask wearing. The current restrictions which we needed to follow when submitting our licence application asked for both of those things. This makes a licence application impossible.
If you already have a ticket for Knockengorroch it will be rolled over to 2022 festival 19th to 22nd May. Or tickets are now on sale for the 2022 event at ‘early bird’ prices.
We will also be opening up the Knockengorroch site for camping opportunities from later this month. Tents, motor homes and caravans will all be welcome and we will publish more details on this soon. This will give all the chance to enjoy Knockengorroch and surrounding area, albeit without the festival.
We are so grateful for the support from our Knockengorroch community over this time. We appreciate all of you who have held onto your tickets month after month and ask of you to keep the faith just a little longer. Of course if you cannot make the 2022 dates please contact our ticketing partner Skiddle for a full refund.
We are now missing the festival more than we thought possible. After 23 years of hosting the best music, people, creative ideas, love and positive energy. The hills have sat quiet for two years. We look forward with so much excitement to welcoming free spirited souls to Knockengorroch’s meadows in the hills to party again. We wait and plan for when that freedom can again be possible. Until May…
